Last week was a fun one for the Culture Club with our first event, Club Sandwich. We all spend so much time doing the day job that we rarely take time out to think, share ideas and experiences, and challenge ourselves to shake things up and do things a bit differently.
When we started the Culture Club, hosting some informal (and hopefully fun) events that allow just that was high on our list of things to do. It was great to have a mix of backgrounds and industries under one roof to compare notes and talk about the opportunities we have to create great places to work – as well as sharing ideas about how we can remove the things that get in our way.
We all agreed that we would like to see changes to how we work and the cultures we work in. Part of our ethos is that change doesn’t have to be big, expensive and loud to make a difference. Instead, we thought about how we can all be ‘dominoes’ (not the pizza), and make small changes to how we work and what we do, that will have an incremental impact in our organisations.
